When I was pressing away on the keyboard to find what keys to use I must have executed a cheat somehow, I got 3 new extra chars. One in a devil outfit with wings/tail, one dressed in white kimono with long white hair and one in blue jeans and a t-shirt.
Pressing L Gives at least a maid called Kiyone.
I was testing all keys during VS Battle. Cannot repeat it either.
Pressing A in VS mode gives Milly (Puma)
Pressing L in VS mode gives Kiyone (cat)
Pressing D in VS mode gives Nanami (Devil)
Pressing F in VS mode gives Kikyou (White fox)
Pressing J makes the cloth color change.

First time I unlocked em all at once and could scroll between them...
A = Gives Milly the puma
D = Nanami the Devil
F = Kikyou the Whitefox
L = Kiyone the Cat
To my surprise L works in Story mode as well.
Look em up yourselves. I still don't know how I manged to add them all to the scroll list the first time.
